The high speed spindles, the control system, the feed drives, the axis mechanism and the automation of Mikron’s MILL S range all have been designed with high speed machining in mind.

Features

 

The machines from the Mikron MILL S Precision series are high precision machining centers that make incremental machine tool movements of down to 100 nanometers (0.1 μm = 1/10000 mm) possible. For optimal absorption of machining and dynamically generated mass energy, the portal design is realized with a polymer concrete base supporting weight optimized and highly stiff cast iron sliding carriages. All axes are powered by direct drives to enable fully simultaneous micro-machining. The linear axes are supported by precision linear-roller-guide ways.
